Waterloo's second XI went in search for their second victory of the season in their second game and a return to manor! New faces were brought in to grace that lovely YELLOW? kit!

But it wasnt such a bright start to the game as waterloo went 2-0 down in the first half! A misshap at the back while (trying) to defend a corner which became a simple nod in for the attacker at the back post! But with waterloo not hitting back Convocation went in search for the second a threw ball from their midfield released the striker who cooly lobbed the helpless Goalkeeper Cain seniour.

Waterloo were then given a rocket up their arse to try and get 1 back - new boy Ian Robbo found swifty on the far side, but his powerful effort only found the side netting. And with 5 to go til half time Waterloo found another break-away as Anthony Griffin played a great thre ball to Chris Cain - 1 on 1 with the keeper it looked a certainty he would score - but the centre half clearly took his legs inside the box - NO PENALTY - to the shock of both teams and especially our line - or rather - Mikey Mawdsley who was furious with the decision. So waterloo were left with further work to do, coming into half time 2-0 down.

So with the half time rest Waterloo came out more determined and controlled most of the half! and with the introduction of Mike Jump (Claude) the passing started to inprove. Griffin found another threw ball, this time to Hewitson who cooly finished as he slotted it first time into the corner! Confidence rose, and Waterloo were taking the game to Convocation! Swifty found a breakaway as he took on the full back and uleased a superb effort which he shot across goal which the keeper could only attempt a save as the ball found its way into the top corner! Waterloo were level! But there was more to come from Swifty, minutes later he doubled his score tally for the season and put waterloo ahead! Mick Jump found Richy whos bad first touch made his second a sliding tackle, the bouncing ball found its way to swift who latched onto it, seeing the keeper off his line he perfectly lobbed him and gave Waterloo the lead!

With waterloo getting beat 2-0 and coming back to take the lead, it was obvious that we had done the hard part, keeping the lead now was a must! But Convocation had nothing to loose so they came gung-ho at Waterloo, and after they hit the post in the last 7 minutes it looked like we had found the victory! but we lost concentration and their tall centre forward found space on the edge of out box, who lukily lobbed Cain in goal and found the top corner, with the teams level again, it looked like it was going to be a point each!

However Waterloo gained a freekick on the edge of their box, and with mike jump over it we had another chance, but his powerful effort was cleared off the six hard box, lucky for them as the keeper was routed to the spot. Convocation then were clearly playing for a draw, as they hoofed a clearance out to the corner, but with their striker giving chase and also our keeper! another chance arose out of nothing! with an empty net the striker found a gap and placed an effort into the far corner! And with that basically the last kick of the game this time the score line stayed at Waterloo 3 - 4 Convocation

A dissapointing turn of events after we got back into the game and took the lead! However we can take positives from the game as we showed courage to get back into it ! but we let it slip at a crucially time! Great performances by first of all Bob Bally who was MOM and swifty as he took his goals very well, and especially to mikey jump who came on and turned the game around!
